Provide the administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Organize and maintain the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of employee files, both paper and electronic.
Coordinate the employment process, to include job postings, scheduling interviews, reference/background checking, and physical/drug screening. Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all required new employee paperwork and its entry into the HCM system.
Assist with new employee orientation and onboarding process for new hires. Monitor onboarding period for new employees. Ensure new employees complete all benefit paperwork accurately and follow up on late paperwork. Process all completed paperwork according to procedures.
Process weekly payroll and update any changes in the system, such as pay change, deduction change, garnishment, etc. Report temporary workers’ hours to their agencies.
Work on special projects in a variety of human resources areas including but not limited to: Training and development, performance management, colleague engagement, company activities, wellness program, etc.
Assist with all routine HR functions in areas including but not limited to: Answering HR questions, benefit administration, performance reviews, HR policy updates, etc.
Organize and maintain the departmental office supplies, ordering as needed.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Education and/or Experience

Two years of college and one to two years related experience; or four years of high school and three to five years of progressively responsible related experience.
Requires the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong computer skills required (good knowledge of Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Must have high level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Attention to detail
High level of organization and time management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of organization

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The position is primarily an office-based position with regular visits to the plant floor. The employee occasionally performs work-related travel.
